About the Founder

Claire McKinlay
Founder, Route to Respect

My Story

I have 13 years Transport and Operations Experience. I have my IOSH certificate & Ive been a FORS practitioner for the past 7 Years.

Throughout my journey I realised the lack of Women in the industry and the need for Women to connect, share experiences, have Supportive, Inclusive and empowering environments and help shape the future of the business together.

I work with transport & Operation teams to improve safety, communication and retention by building more inclusive working environments. Particularly for women in operations and frontline roles.

Why did I start Route to Respect!

I founded Route to Respect to help create safer, more respectful and inclusive workplaces for women, particularly in transport, logistics and operational environments.

Drawing on my leadership and frontline operational experience, I understand both the opportunities these industries can offer and the cultural barriers women can encounter once they enter them. My work focuses on turning good intentions into practical action.

I'm passionate about giving women a stronger voice at work, helping leaders understand the everyday experiences of their teams, and encouraging the next generation of young women to see careers in traditionally male-dominated industries as genuinely open to them.

Talent has no gender. Ambition has no gender. Leadership has no gender.

Route to Respect brings together workplace culture, education, leadership, safety and recognition - with one clear aim: to help women not only enter these industries, but stay, progress and thrive.

Royal Recognition

Honoured to receive support from Kensington Palace for my mission to inspire the next generation of women.

There is still so much work to do, but moments like today remind me that this conversation matters.
Thank you to Kensington Palace for taking the time to acknowledge the importance of inspiring young women to believe in themselves and pursue careers where they can thrive.

This has given me even more determination to continue working with schools, colleges, universities and employers to help create workplaces where women feel safe, valued and respected.

"Every conversation, every workshop, every school visit and every organisation that chooses to invest in women takes us one step closer to a future where every young woman knows there are no limits to what she can achieve. This letter is a reminder to keep going." 💜

My workshops are interactive, engaging and tailored to the needs of your workplace, creating open conversations around the issues that really matter.

The focus is on real situations, practical actions and helping teams build a culture where everyone — particularly women — can feel safe, valued, respected and able to thrive.

Don't just say you support women. Prove it.

The Route to Respect Accreditation helps organisations demonstrate their commitment to creating a workplace where women feel safe, respected, valued and able to thrive.

Through a structured assessment, we look beyond policies to understand your workplace culture, identify good practice and highlight opportunities for improvement.

Achieve Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum accreditation and proudly demonstrate your commitment to meaningful change.

Creating Cultures Where Women Can Thrive.

Inspiring the Next Generation

I work with schools and colleges to inspire young women to explore careers in industries they may never have considered. Through engaging and relatable talks, I challenge stereotypes around traditionally male-dominated careers and encourage young women to look beyond expectations and recognise their own potential.

Because career choices should be driven by passion and ambition — not gender.
